The provider Myrtis Davis obtained her Baccalaureate degree of Nursing from Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS.
She began her nursing career at University of Maryland Medical Systems. After years of working in various disciplines of nursing from emergency room, intensive care, and rehab facilities, Myrtis returned to academia to obtain a Masters in Nursing. She attended Coppin State University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program and graduated in 2009. Myrtis continues to devote her time and efforts in the pursuit of health and wellness in the community.
COMPANY GOALS
What inspired you to pursue your profession?
I didn’t want to be in school a long time. I gave myself 4 years. I wanted to have a degree that would allow me to obtain a decent paying job but not necessarily mean more school after the 4 years. Two medical doctors encouraged nursing. Later, I learned, inspiration came from the deep sense of desire to help others.
Where do you see yourself in the near future?
  1. Managing New Era Wellness full time as opposed to working New Era daily.
  2. Pursuing/ looking for a forever home.
  3. Continuing to educate the ageing population and general public the public on ageing in place and health promotion.
